The Goal

Developer/operator Ed McClure, founder of Phoenix Hospitality Group, long envisioned this project, working for more than ten years to bring it to fruition. He imagined a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in the heart of the Hill Country, and as that finally became reality, he realized he needed a strong name and logo to match the magnitude of his project. We were happy to help!

The Challenge:

Ed Requested a new creative name and logo that he could build on to become an iconic brand in the hospitality industry. We needed to create a name with depth, one that reflected all that the Hill Country and Boerne embodied. It needed to be welcom- ing and friendly while also speaking of the volumes that the Hill Country has to offer. After a brainstorm session, we proposed a selection of our best name options, and amongst those options, one spoke to Ed the most.

OUR STRATEGY

He ultimately chose The Bevy. Bevy means a group of related things – which was a perfect fit for a hotel that represented a virtual cornucopia of all things people come to the Hill Country for – incredible food, artisan beverages, rustic finishes, vibrant colors of our wild flowers, the music of Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jerry Jeff Walker and of course friendly people epitomizing Southern hospitality. After the name was chosen, our creative team developed The Bevy’s visual identity, also known as their logo. We were thrilled when Ed’s vision came to life and now The Bevy sits where it belongs – the the heart of the Hill Country.
